The unsigned and anonymous letters were sent to members of the university community including the board of regents, and the informer newspaper. Within the documents, however, vague allegations were made regarding neglect of duty against numerous people and departments within the university. The most direct allegations are against university President Walter Harrison.
Peter Eio, Chairman of the Board of Regents for the university, says, “in general I have to say and this i think speak on behalf of all the regents, we have been extremely pleased with Walter Harrison’s leadership over the past eight years. He’s done a wonderful job and anyone who’s been around for that period of time has seen tremendous changes.”
Eio went on to say that he hopes the anonymous person or persons would come forward with their grievances so they can work together to work out a solution or delve further into the allegations which were made in the letters.
