A close race can be very nerve racking to even the most stoic sports fans. With four teams all within one game for fourth place its looking like the America East Standings won’t be set in stone until the final seconds next Sunday when all four of them play for the last time. These four are New Hampshire, Albany, Stony Brook, and of course Hartford. The Hawks entered yesterdays game at fourth and were looking to make a run for third until Boston U stopped the show.
Between sweeping Maine on Thursday and last months upset of the second place Terriers the Hartford flew into this game with high spirits. The game was tied a total of nine times and the lead changed 14 times in total. Unfortunately BU’s Darryl Partin scored 25 points to ground UHA. Morgan Sabia led the Hawks with 14 points. Anthony Minor wasn’t far behind with 11 and he also managed to have 4 boards and 4 steals.
The team has 4 games remaining to prove they can win it all. Two of them are below Uhart in the standings (UMBC and Binghamton) and the other two are in that “one game” catagory mentioned earlier (Stony Brook and New Hampshire). Starting with Binghamton on Wednesday. This game will be aired on STN Channel 2 so tune in at 6:45. Hartford beat last place Binghamton last month so it’ll be a good sport to start their turn around.
