Three charged with home invasion on campus

Three men were arrested Tuesday morning, charged with forcing their way into a student’s dorm room inside A Complex.

Stephane Idohou, 20, and Tyrone Davis, 19, who are both students at the University of Hartford, and William Wood, 21, were arrested by the University’s Public Safety early Tuesday morning. They were then turned over to Hartford police later in the day.

The men were charged with home invasion, first-degree threatening, first-degree burglary, and attempted first-degree robbery. according to police reports. Wood was also charged with carrying a dangerous weapon.

The student living in the room inside A Complex told police he heard someone knocking at his door in the early morning hours. The knocking continued until the student opened the door, and the suspects forced their way into the dorm.

One of the men allegedly pointed what may have been a small black pistol at the victim’s head, but the victim pushed the suspects out of his room, and pushed the door closed using his shoulder, then locked the door.

After about five minutes, the victim went and checked the hallway inside the building, finding no one there.

All three suspects appeared in Hartford Superior Court Wednesday. Bond was set at $100,000 for Davis and Wood, and $350,000 for Idohou.

The men are all scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday, May 27.
