On Saturday, October 24, 2015, SGA held their second annual Dance-A-Thon known as the DO THAT DAT 2 in the GSU café and Suisman Lounge. The money raised for attending the event was donated to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
The Whole in the Wall Gang Camp provides support to seriously ill children and their families so that they are able to keep their mind off this severe situation.
According to Finance VP of SGA Natefa Scafe, “Last year I decided to begin the event because my little brother actually suffers from sickle cell anemia. I wanted to have an event that had a purpose for me that actually meant something to me.”
This year’s event featured many activities including live performances, silent auctions, and a dance competition, along with newer activities like photo booths, henna tattoos, and caricatures.
Students also had the opportunity to win various prizes including $250 in Hawk Cash, Beats By Dre, concert tickets to see the Weeknd, and a trip to Paris.
