On Tuesday September 20th, University of Hartford Hillyer Alum Wayne Chen came to accept the award at the Wilde Auditorium. Wayne is the 12th winner of the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award. The dean and faculty of Hillyer College decided to award Wayne the award after seeing his success at the Strategic Innovation Group at the Booz Allen Hamilton, which he was recently named the director of.

Students went to the lecture at 4:30 to hear Wayne speak on his experiences as a recent graduate from the university who is now finding success in his field of work. Dean of Hillyer College David H. Goldenberg states that having a young speaker makes it easier for students to connect with the speaker. He also encourages students on campus to take advantage of the speakers who visit campus as they’re a great opportunity to learn about success.
