Public Safety now in possession of life saving equipment

With school shootings occurring across the nation, the safety of students and faculty should be a top priority for schools everywhere.

Last Tuesday the University of Hartford held a press conference where it was announced that Public Safety is now in possession of new life saving kits. It was thanks to the generous donations of two of the university regents that the University of Hartford was able to obtain these kits.

The new medical kits are designed to stop heavy bleeding and are meant to prolong the time the victim has before bleeding out. The kits are equipped with tourniquets, gauze pads and other useful supplies.

Every Public Safety officer has been trained how to use the kits and carry them with them. The University of Hartford is the first educational institute in New England to have its officers trained and equipped with these bleeding control kits.

It is President Walter Harrison’s hope that they never be used.
