Career Readiness Workshops

Pursuing a career in Health related fields can be daunting as the employment process can be vastly different compared to other professions. Students in the school of Education, Nursing, and Health Professions reached out Linda Schultz, an associate director in Career services asking about setting up a possible workshops for students.

The first workshop took place on Tuesday Feb 9 in Hawk Hall room 115 from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. The workshop covered the basics of Resumes and Cover Letters. Students were able to ask questions they may have about the employment process. Students found the workshops very helpful as they learned what to put on their resumes and what not to put on them.

Lisa states that with the new competitive world of work any discrepancy or mistake on someones resume or Cover letter can ruin any chances of obtaining a job much less an interview.

There are two more workshops left this month. One on the 16th from 7pm-9pm which covers dress code and the last one being on the 23rd from 7:30pm to 8:30pm covering the interview process. Both workshops will take place in Hawk Hall room 115.
