The University along with the Women’s Center is sponsoring a breast cancer awareness walk. The walk will take place on Saturday, October 18th in Bushnell Park at 11am, with sign ups starting at 9am. Students are urged to come out and show their support.
Chelsea Caplan, who is organizing the event, explained what the walk is about. “This specific walk is by The American Cancer Society, so the money is going to help the research a cure for breast cancer.”
She also stated there were a good amount of people who signed up.We have close to 100 people signed up on our list as well as all the Greek life organizations participating as well, so we’re really looking forward to it.
The Women’s center will be tabling in Gengras on Tuesday and Thursday so students can sign up. They are asking for a donation of one dollar which will give students a pin or a bracelet to show their support.
