When tuition hikes are all too common, how does free room and board sound?
The University is offering just in a continued job opportunity for students.
The University Facilities department is now accepting applications for their Resident Facility Assistant positions for the 2012 and 2013 academic year.
The 18 RFAs get a stipend of free room and board, priority registration and early move-in.
RFA’s are student extentions of the facilities department and the first responders to issues regarding University facilities.
RFAs also work in the office answering phones and file-ing work orders.
Facilities is located on the side of the public safety building.
Applications have been available since October 31st and the department is looking to hire at least 8 new students.
Facilities has these requirements for a successful candidate:
– Have one year of experience living on the University of Hartford campus
– Maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout the course of employment
– Have and maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of at least 2.3/4.0
– Be financially eligible for Room and Board as compensation
– Have and maintain ‘good standing’ with the Office of Student Conduct and the Office of Residential Life
– Be available for employment for a full academic year
– Be able to effectively work with a diverse team
– Be able to perform certain physical requirements
