Last Sunday marked the start of Hawktober week, UHart’s yearly celebration focusing on school spirit as well as reunions with family and alumni alike. The university will be hosting unique events every day up to and including October 20th.
Some highlights include the 7th Annual Bakin’ Like a Boss event on October 16th in which students will compete in a 2 hour cake decorating contest. The Campus Activities Team will be hosting a comedy show the following night starring Nicole Byer, best known for hosting the Netflix comedy/cooking show Nailed it!. Other events include a pumpkin-painting and bonfire event Thursday night at 8, and a “Retro Party” in the GSU.
SGA will kick off “Hawktober Weekend” with Friday night’s “First Flight” event, a massive pep rally in commemoration of the various athletic groups around campus. It will feature performances from Fenomena, UHA Steppaz, the Pep Band, and more. Early arrivals to this event will receive free Hawktober merchandise like t-shirts, and even beach balls.
“Hawktober weekend” is officially recognized as Uhart’s family and homecoming weekend, Parents and alumni alike are invited to visit the university and participate in the various events.
